Independent voters now outnumber Republicans in Arizona

New quarterly numbers released by the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office show nearly 4.2 million people are registered to vote in Arizona.

That’s an increase of more than 30,000 voters from last quarter.

Voters with no party affiliation account for 1,450,697 people.

By contrast, there are 1,445,127 Republican registrants and 1,260,659 registered Democrats; 33,738 voters are registered as Libertarians while the newcomer No Labels party has 8,505 registered voters.

According to a release, "548,411 voters are listed as inactive. Inactive voters are still registered and eligible to participate in elections, but are labeled inactive because at least one election mailing sent to the registration address was returned undeliverable; and the voter has not yet submitted a new registration form or otherwise updated their address.”
